So what I'm saying is... maybe we were right.
Around twenty years ago, I got pretty good at putting words on a screen and calling it writing. Now, I'm calling it again: blogs are back, baby.
Well, ok, no. They really aren't. And probably never will be. But social media is dead. Well, ok, no. It really isn't. And probably never will be. But it's normal now, in a way that renders it more like a mall than a library. And it isn't useful anymore for the things it used to be great at -- building relationships, testing ideas, having deeper conversations.
And like the mall killed the library as a place of gathering, social media killed the blog. But libraries are still around; and blogs are still around too. Except now they're just websites. So I'm gonna give this a shot.
